What is Christian Domestic Discipline?
A Christian Domestic Discipline marriage is one that is set up according to Biblical standards; that is, the husband is the authority in the household. The wife is submissive to her husband as is fit in the Lord and her husband loves her as himself. He has the ultimate authority in his household, but it is tempered with the knowledge that he must answer to God for his actions and decisions. He has the authority to spank his wife for punishment, but in real CDD marriages this is taken very seriously and usually happens only rarely. CDD is so much more than just spanking. It is the husband loving the wife enough to guide and teach her, and the wife loving the husband enough to follow his leadership. A Christian marriage embodies true romance and a Christian man a true hero.

It’s not th’ spankin’s per se, it’s th’ part about how “her husband loves her as himself” I find objectionable. I don’t much care fer bein’ wadded up ‘n left on the side table next to his recliner.

There are no nautical links as such in my heritage, just how many wealthy Christian men kept second families out of marriage amazes me - and I am the offspring of one such kept lady three generations back!

Aye, Cap’n, Jerry might have had somethin’ to do with it, not in a direct way, but by misquotin’ the Bible, and supportin’ domination of others, by misguided folk. There be plenty of feminist theologians out there, and a fair bit be Christian. As for the literalists, sometimes called fundamentalists, and given to quotin’ out of context, I’m not so sure they be givin’ up the eatin’ o’ pork, and I figger they not be in favour of stonin’ of televangists who are found adulterin’.
